So yesterday QIT watched the second last episode of Skins series 4 and what a very interesting episode it was. Not only was it the last Effy centric episode ever. Yes Effy is definitely a favourite of mine. It has been amazing to watch her character transitioning from the speechless little girl of season one to the head case she has become now. The writer have really done some amazingwork with this character and the second last episode focused on what experiences had brought her to the point of where she is in the show now. Plus it was great to see a few references to the earlier series. It would have been great to have had a cameo from her brother Tony (Nicholas Hoult) but alas that didn’t happen.
BIG SPOILER WARNING!!!
So if any of you guys have been watching the current season, Effy has gone on this downward spiral where she ended up in a funny farm and placed under the guidance of psychiatrist Dr John Foster who grew an unhealthy obsession with his patient. Now this where things got very interesting. When the Dr invited Freddie to his house admitting that he had used unorthodox methods in trying to cure Effy, the big season twist and episode cliffhanger that no-one expected took place. The Dr brutally beat Freddie to death with a baseball bat.
So here a few things that surprised me with this. It seemed so unexpected and could the writers be merely messing with the viewer’s head’s, could it just be another sequence coming from the messed up head of Effy? Or have the writers serious chose to go down this dark path. I mean think about every season finale the show has had didn’t come with their complete peachy happy endings.
Quite a few fans are outraged at this plot twist threatening to boycott the series finale. Well QIT is too much of a fan of the show to miss it, so he is counting down the days. So what is in store for every one’s favourite Bristol troubled teenagers?
There is no denying there are few plot lines that need to be resolved. We can only wait till next week to see if the writer’s deliver the goods!

Can I just point out that there is no evidence whatsoever that Freddie was beaten to death… the scene merely ends with the viewer to decide/figure out what has happened. The finale will hopefully tie up all the loose ends but calling it murder is sort of jumping the gun a little bit…
That maybe so. I personally think it could merely be symbolic for the loss of Freddie/relationship from pov of effy’s fragile state of mind. The scene did seem a lil out of character for even the writers mind but only time will tell. I assume ur looking forward to the finale as much as I am?
With the finale been and gone we now know freddie was murdered but now that the thrid generation has been announced is there any chance off them completing the second generation story with what happens to cook
I am hoping they deal with it with some way or they might deal with it, with the Skins movie that is set to be released in 2011
