This news brings a tear to QIT’s eyes. John McCallum, the dude who created the cult classic Australian TV show Skippy, passed away on Wednesday at the age 91. He created the 1960s TV hit Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, which became an international success, and worked on numerous movies including the 1982 war movie Attack Force Z, which gave starring roles to the then-unknown actors Mel Gibson and Sam Neill. QIT has lost count of how many afternoons he spent watching Skippy and the numerous spin offs, he even remembers trying to whistle on a gum leaf. Alas, he never could pull it off.
